How I actually think about design
Clarity is a feature, not a finish.
Most products don't fail because of missing features.They fail because of avoidable confusion. My firstquestion on any project: what does the user need tounderstand, and what's getting in the way?
Business outcomes and good UXare the same problem.
Design that doesn't move a metric didn't solve theright problem. I work backwards from what thebusiness needs — and forwards from what usersneed to not rage-quit.
Speed and quality aren'ta trade-off. Scope is.
I've shipped complex redesigns in 4.5 months andwon awards for it. The trick isn't to rush — it's tobe ruthless about what goes into v1 and whatwaits for v2.
If I can't explain it simply,I don't understand it yet.
I think in first principles. It's what lets me go from a 30,000ft product strategy conversation to pixel-level design decisions in the same afternoon —without losing the thread between the two.
